The Critically Endangered Palmed Harlequin-Frog (Atelopus palmatus) is still alive!
The Critically Endangered Palmed Harlequin-Frog (Atelopus palmatus) is still alive near the Pastaza River in the Ecuadorian Amazon! This sighting is the third one for this species after its rediscovery in 2008 by the Museo Ecuatoriano de Ciencias Naturales (now INABIO). Deforestation and infectious diseases have researchers concerned about the well-being of this toad.
